I did not create this journal because I have mastered the things I want to write about. I created it because I am living through them.
I am learning how to support my husband as he navigates systemic sclerosis while also learning how to care for myself through PCOS, changing health needs, stress, and the ordinary responsibilities of family life. Faith is part of that story. So are questions, uncertainty, ancestry, nature, and a growing desire to understand what is true.
Grace gives us room to begin before we are finished. Truth keeps the beginning honest.
Grace at the Roots will be part personal journal, part reflection space, and part research notebook. Some entries will tell a story. Others will slow down a health or wellness claim and examine what the evidence actually supports. Faith reflections will identify Scripture clearly and keep my personal interpretation distinct from the text itself.
What I hope grows here
I hope this becomes a place where people can feel less alone without being given false certainty. A place where natural wellness can be explored with curiosity and caution. A place where heritage is honored, resilience is not romanticized, and growth does not require pretending hardship was beautiful.
I am not a medical professional, and my experience is not medical advice. I am simply choosing to document the questions, lessons, and faithful next steps that are shaping this season of my life.
Welcome to the beginning.
